The famous gorilla of the viral selfie leaves her last breath in the arms of the beloved man who rescued her as a baby

Worldwide famous gorilla, that posed in a viral selfie with an anti proaching ranger passed away on the arms of the man who saved her when she was an infant.

In a heartbreaking photo shared on Instagram by Virunga National Park, the two friends can be seen together for the last time in their lives. That post shows the way Ndakasi is lying her head on her beloved partner’s chest before her last breath.

“Virunga expresses her heartfelt condolences on the death of the beloved orphan Gorilla Nadakasi, who was in the care of the Senkwakwe Center in the park for more than a decade,” he said. “On the evening of September 26, after a long illness and her condition rapidly deteriorating, Ndakasi breathed her last at the loving hands of her guardian and lifelong friend, Andre Bauma.”

Ndakasi – like all other primates living in the Virunga Park in the Congo – was a symbol of hope and determination. Hunting alone is a perfect example of how enduring these amazing creatures can be. Ndakasi was first brought to the Senkwake Center in Viruga Park when she was two months old. At the time, after losing her mother – she was rescued by park rangers due to poaching.
