A lioness was caught on camera protecting a baby wildebeest.

As strange as animal friendships can be, this is the weirdest one I’ve ever seen. This is the kind of thing that happens once in a lifetime. It was caught on camera by a wildlife photographer. A wildebeest calf should have been her dinner.

A short video of a baby wildebeest walking next to an adult lion in Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park. In fact, the wild feline did more than just save the helpless calf. She also looked after it and even helped it get back to its herd, where it was safe and well-fed. This is very unusual, especially when it comes from one of the world’s most fearless predators.

Everyone was surprised by the lioness’s decision not to hunt down the hopeless animals and protect them from the hunters. When she was a child, her maternal instincts were far more powerful than those that made her want to hunt down other animals for food.

Serengeti National Park in Tanzania is where this video was taken. The caption reads, “Wilderbeast and lioness walking together.” These things can happen if maternal instincts are stronger than predatory instincts.

They were walking together at Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. This isn’t the first time a lion has shown love to a wildebeest, even though it sounds like it. If you watch the video, you’ll see that when the baby wildebeest was born, the mother lioness took care of the baby just as if it were her own. The part of the wildlife documentary Surviving the Serengeti that got a lot of attention on social media was that time. Millions of people saw it. It’s here:
