FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN A DOG AND A DUCK SURPRISES EVERYONE IN A SMALL TOWN

When Max the dog moved into Patrick and Kirsten Riley’s home in Strout, Minnesota, when he was 5 years old, he became good friends with Sasha, their other husky. Everything in the world was great when Sasha and Max were together. But when Sasha died, Max was left feeling very sad and alone. Instead of getting another dog, Patrick and Kirsten decided to get a duck named Quackers.

They probably didn’t think Max would like the new family member as much as he did, but the two hit it off and couldn’t stay apart. “Max would always sit next to his pen, and that’s how they got close,” Patrick said. “They were always together after we let him out.” Kirsten said, “They do everything together. They sleep together, eat, drink, go for walks together, etc.”

Their friendship has made their owners proud, but it has also caught the attention of the whole town. People in their small village think of these two as local celebrities, and everyone is thrilled to see how well they get along.
