Even though sea mammals don’t have the best reputation for being friendly, many examples show the opposite. Even though seals look cute, most divers stay away from them because they can be dangerous. However, some great encounters between seals and people ended with big hugs, kisses, and cuddles.
When this group of snorkelers saw a group of sea lions, they didn’t run away. As a result, they had a once-in-a-lifetime experience. In Puerto Madryn, Argentina, the divers were having a great time underwater when a group of sea mammals came up to them.
Sea lions usually stay away from people, but one of them seemed very friendly and interested in me. So it came out of the water and gave one of the snorkelers a big kiss. The huge animal climbed up the diver’s body to get this close-up look. Another diver caught the cute moment on video, which shows that sea lions can be just as friendly as a puppy.
The cute meeting lasted about two minutes, with the playful sea creature being very interested in the camera and the diver’s goggles. The pod stayed close to the divers for a while longer, poking their heads up every so often to talk to the people.
These snorkelers are getting a lot more than they expected. Watch the video below to see what happened.
