A photographer takes one-of-a-kind pictures of a fish stuck inside a jellyfish.
An Australian photographer named Tim Samuel took a picture that will never be seen again while free diving off of The Pass in Byron Bay, which is on the north coast of New South Wales. The amazing pictures show the strange sight of a fish stuck inside a jellyfish. Samuel said it was even stranger that the fish that was trapped could control where the jellyfish went, making it work like a twisted version of a live submarine.
The pictures seem to show the poor little fish’s horrified (or maybe confused?) face while he is stuck in his jelly cage. Samuel has been a photographer for more than five years and a surfing teacher before that. He says he has never seen anything like this while being on the water.
Associate Professor Ian Tibbetts at the University of Queensland told Australian Geographic, “it’s hard to tell whether disaster has just struck or whether the fish is happy to be in there.” The fish looked worried. Some fish hide from jellyfish stingers, so maybe this little guy just missed his mark. In any case, Samuel’s pictures are without a doubt the strangest thing I’ve seen today.
