Luckily, the wildlife rehabilitator who was called to the scene while fast-moving traffic went by freed the owl from the plastic bag.
Not all heroes wear capes.
People on Nampa’s I-84 who were worried called the Idaho State Police (ISP) many times to say they saw a Great Horned Owl stuck in plastic.
The scene was checked out by Sgt. Brandalyn Crapo, and the animal rescue group Animals in Distress was called for help.
The owl was said to have been there for a while, and that stretch of highway gets a lot of traffic.
When Sgt. Crapo got there, she saw the owl in the middle of the road and used her police cruiser to block traffic coming the other way.
Owls are such beautiful birds.
Once the owl was out of the way, Har.m waited for a wildlife rescue worker to arrive.
They quickly checked her over to make sure she wasn’t hurt before letting her go.
The worker then took the owl off the busy road and let her fly away.

What a great thing that the cops helped the cute owl when it was in trouble.
