A dramatic picture shows Hawaii's 65-foot-tall Lava Dome for the first time in a long time. Hawaii's Kilauea Volcano's Mauna Ulu erupted for an amazing 1,774 days, which is five years. Around 460 million cubic yards of lava were released during what was Kilauea's longest-running eruption at the time. From 1969 to 1974, the public could see the spectacular eruption from viewing platforms. It caused a number of natural events that are rarely seen during volcanic eruptions.
