People can help protect animals at a lot of different rescue groups in the area.

If you want to work with animals at shelters, you have a lot of options. You can also help local rescues by volunteering. Whether it’s walking dogs, fostering, cleaning kennels, or helping with adoption events, most of them would appreciate any help.

A British woman, on the other hand, has come up with a really creative way to help animals in need: she makes sweaters and blankets for them!

Over the years, Maisie Green has used her knitting skills to make hundreds of sweaters and blankets for dogs. She has given all of them to the UK’s Canine Trust Basildon shelter’s foster dogs.

In the next Dogs Trust Instagram picture, 89-year-old Maisie is shown standing tall and proudly in front of the knitted gifts she made for rescued animals:

She told the Dogs Trust Basildon, “I love knitting and I love dogs, so this is a great way to combine the two.” “It takes me three days to knit a blanket, but only one day to knit a dog coat,” she said.

All that knitting shows that she likes helping the puppies in need while they look for forever homes. Maisie knits a lot, and her family helps her make the trip to the shelter three times a year to drop off her gifts.

She also said that working on knitting projects gives her a sense of meaning.

Making things keeps me busy, and I often enjoy knitting while watching TV. “I’m happy to help the center’s four-legged residents in any way I can,” she said.

Dogs Trust Basildon says that by December 2018, Maisie had crocheted 450 warm clothes for the animals in the rescue.

The dogs at the shelter love getting handmade items, whether they come from Maisie or somewhere else. They look really cute when they wear them too.

Dogs Trust takes care of more than 16,000 lost and abandoned dogs every year. It is one of the largest dog rescue groups in the UK. Volunteers can take part in a number of activities organized by the group.

They are giving back in such a nice way through Maisie Green’s work. There’s no question that the animals are thankful for all of her wonderful gifts.
