There are many sad and bad things that happen because of plastic like a turtle getting stuck in a plastic ring or a whale eating a lot of them.
A turtle was found collapsed in a drainage ditch in New Orleans, Louisiana, twenty years ago. She had a milk jug ring around her middle, which had deformed her body. They took care of the turtle, freed her from the milking ring, and gave her the name Mae West.
Also, in the middle of 2018, a pilot whale was found in a canal in southern Thailand. Rescuers put buoys around the animal to keep him afloat while he threw up into plastic bags. After that, a group of veterinarians desperately tried to save the whale’s life, but they were sadly unsuccessful.
